Term 3 holiday workshops

Workshops for young musicians

Short, hands-on group programmes that run during the school holidays. Open to both Red Note students and the wider community — you don't need to learn with us to come along. All workshops are aimed at students of all abilities and skill levels, whether you're an aspiring composer or trying it out for the first time!

Junior · Years 2–6

Introduction to Songwriting

Join us for Introduction to Songwriting presented by two of our teachers, Hana Lavers and Julian Smith-Gard. In this workshop we'll be looking at popular songs written by artists across the world, and exploring what it is that makes their songs so catchy! You'll learn to play basic chords, structure your very own verses and choruses, and write lyrics to put to your music.
